Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King has been published digitally in English by Tapas Media since January 18, 2021. It’s among the few manhwas That have it all: a captivating story, well-balanced pacing, stunning artwork, and impressive character designs. The main character, Han Bin, is a highlight of the series – a big, buff, and beautiful man who’s sure to capture your attention.
While the story may start off a bit slow in the first 50 chapters, and the artwork may not immediately live up to expectations, trust us when we say that it’s worth persevering. This manhwa has garnered a significant following and impressive ratings, with many fans praising its engaging start. While it’s clear that this series has resonated with many readers, I personally found it challenging to connect with. Specifically, I felt that the middle chapters didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the strong beginning, becoming a bit generic and repetitive. However, it’s worth noting that opinions on this series vary widely, and many readers have thoroughly enjoyed it

9. OMNISCIENT READER’S VIEWPOINT
THEME | CHAPTERS | STATUS | RATING |
Urban Fantasy | 244 | Completed | 8.59☆ |
This series is one of my all-time favorites! While many readers dropped it due to its slow pace, I personally enjoy slow-burn stories. The premise and execution are well-done, with a unique take on the “novel-reader-knows-what’s-about-to-go-down” trope.
The series boasts a distinctive MC, lovable cast, great chemistry between characters, and impressive world-building. If you enjoy the manhwa, I recommend checking out the light novel (LN), which is even better – and complete!
Overall, I think this series is worth checking out. Give it a shot, and if you don’t enjoy it after the first few arcs, you might not like it overall. But hey, you might be pleasantly surprised!

13. ELECEED
THEME | CHAPTERS | STATUS | RATING |
Martial arts | 329 | Ongoing | 8.53☆ |
I initially loved Eleceed, giving it a 9/10. The plot, characters, and pacing were all excellent, especially in the first few arcs. The main character was relatable, and the comedy was spot on.
However, as the story progressed, it slowly declined. The author seemed to lose steam, and the antagonists became repetitive, with each one spouting the same entitled lines. The main character also failed to grow, not just physically, but also personality-wise. Despite achieving impressive victories, they remained stagnant and overly humble.
Furthermore, the top-ranked character’s behavior was inconsistent, veering wildly from tough and respected to blushing like a schoolgirl. This disparity between her reputation and actions was jarring.
Despite its flaws, I still believe Eleceed is one of the 10 best manhwas ever made. Its unique origins and initial execution were truly captivating.
Jiwoo is a kind-hearted young man who harnesses the lightning quick reflexes of a cat to secretly make the world a better place—one saved little child or foster pet at a time. Kayden is a secret agent on the run, who finds himself stuck in the body of a…um…decidedly fat old fluffy cat. Together, armed with Jiwoo’s super powers and Kayden’s uber-smarts, they’re out to fight those forces who would let evil rule this world. That is, if they can stand each other long enough to get the job done.
14. MOOKHYANG: DARK LADY
THEME | CHAPTERS | STATUS | RATING |
MARTIAL ARTS | 238 | Ongoing | 7.55☆ |
I wholeheartedly consider this manhwa a masterpiece. In an era dominated by simplistic stories revolving around the protagonist, this series shines by incorporating rich world-building and complexity.
The art is exceptional, and the European fantasy setting is a refreshing change from the oversaturated murim genre. The author’s attention to detail is impressive, from the character names to the cultural nuances of the world.
The protagonist forms intricate connections with various characters, navigating the complexities of their relationships and the unfamiliar cultural landscape. The names of characters and places are also noteworthy for their originality.
I eagerly anticipate the story’s progression and hope it continues to surprise and captivate.
The exceptional martial artist and proud hierarch of the Demonic Sect, Mookhyang, winds up in a strange new fantasy realm after falling victim to a curse cast by his enemies, the Blood Sect. But when Mookhyang’s incredible control over qi, or mana, becomes known, it’s only a matter of time before he gets cursed again… and turned into a young lady?! In this world of elves, mages, knights, and dragons, will a mastery of Chinese martial arts be enough for one man (or woman) to fight his way back home? Or will this humbled warrior finally concede defeat?
15. TOMB RAIDER KING
THEME | CHAPTERS | STATUS | RATING |
Supernatural | 41 | Completed | 7.38☆ |
Tomb Raider King” is a manhwa that sparks divided opinions. On one hand, it’s praised for its unique premise, blending time travel and tomb raiding, and delivering action-packed sequences. On the other hand, it’s criticized for its over-the-top plot armor, morally ambiguous characters, and inconsistent storytelling.
While some readers find it entertaining due to its original concept and thrilling action, others find it frustrating due to plot contrivances. Ultimately, “Tomb Raider King” is a polarizing series that will appeal to fans of action-packed adventures, but may test the patience of readers seeking more nuanced storytelling.

17. LOOKISM
THEME | CHAPTERS | STATUS | RATING |
Supernatural | 529 | Ongoing | 7.97☆ |
Lookism is a polarizing series, catering to two distinct groups: those who enjoy the recent hype surrounding its fight format, reminiscent of One Punch Man, and those who prefer the original plot-driven storytelling.
For fans of action-packed series, Lookism combines elements of Gangstar (Jojo Season 5), K-pop, and Baki. The art is exceptional, refining the Korean webtoon art standard with stunning character designs. The series explores themes like lookism, a commentary on Korea’s unrealistic beauty standards.
The introduction of new characters, each with unique abilities, mirrors Baki’s style. This shift likely reflects the author’s desire to experiment with more dynamic storytelling.
One Punch Man fans will appreciate the presence of two undefeated characters, serving as a benchmark for power. As the story unfolds, these characters create hype and anticipation, making Lookism an exciting read for fans of martial arts and action.
While some readers may find the series disjointed due to the shift in focus, others will enjoy the blend of plot, fights, and martial arts. If you’re part of the latter group, Lookism is definitely worth checking out.
